Bats Struggle as Dodgers Complete Sweep

Another rough road trip for the Pirates has already resulted in a sweep. The Dodgers took the game 5-2 as Kenta Maeda got the win for Los Angeles, pitching 8.1 strong innings only allowing two runs.

The Pirates stay cold with the bats and only scored their two runs in the ninth. Francisco Cervelli hit a two-run home run in the ninth to score Josh Harrison for the only Pirate runs. The Pirates just can’t generate much offense and Clayton Kershaw did not even pitch in the series.

The Dodgers hitters roughed up Chad Kuhl as he went five and giving up four runs. Cody Bellinger hit a opposite field two-run home run in the 1st inning. Chase Utley drove in two runs and Yasmani Grandal doubled in the fifth run.

The Bucs head to Arizona to face the Diamondbacks Thursday night. Gerrit Cole will be on the hill opposite of Zack Greinke which starts at 9:40PM.
