Game 60: Colorado for a Day

Well the Pirates had to finish their 10-inning affair last night and then fly straight out to Denver for a 5:10PM EST game start today against the Rockies at Coors Field.

This is the makeup game for the rainout (or was it a snowout?) on April 28. Jeff Locke flew out to Colorado a day early to get ready for his start today. Locke is coming off two strong starts with a complete shutout three-hitter against the Marlins and then a 7.0 inning, three run game against the Angels this past weekend. Overall on the season, Locke has a 4.28 ERA, but a FIP of 5.12. As mediocre as that is, Locke has been one of the better starters for the Bucs this season with seven quality starts.

The Rockies will counter with Chad Bettis, who is struggling this season with an ERA of 5.58 and 4.68 FIP. The Pirates already face Bettis once this season back in April and scored four runs off him in 6.2 innings.

Here’s the Bucs lineup for today:
Jaso 1B
McCutchen CF
Polanco RF
Marte LF
Freese 3B
Harrison 2B
Mercer SS
Stewart C
Locke P
